AgileSavant is continuing to expand its stable of experienced, credible, and client focused lean-agile coaches and trainers.  With that in mind, it is with great pleasure and excitement that the AgileSavant team welcomes Jamie Shopland to our ranks as an Enterprise Transformation Coach (ETC) and Trainer.  Jamie comes to AgileSavant with over 15 years of experience in a variety of domains including lean-agile coaching, product management, digital strategy, marketing, project portfolio management, and software development.  Jamie has been providing this domain expertise as a full-time employee or independent contractor for companies such as Unison Site Management, DMS, Inc, U.S. Silica, Music & Arts, and now AgileSavant.

Jamie’s focus within AgileSavant will be providing ETC services for the implementation of the Scaled Agile Framework, or SAFe, along with providing SAFe public and private course offerings.  Jamie is currently providing SAFe Agile Coaching within the Federal Reserve Banking system and is providing mostly weekend SAFe courses due to her current coaching schedule. You can check out Jamie’s public course offerings on Eventbrite at: https://bit.ly/Jamie-SAFe-Courses.

Although Jamie officially joined AgileSavant earlier this year, she has a multi-year history with AgileSavant.  She took her first of five SAFe courses with AgileSavant in July 2018 and has been a regular student throughout the years.  In early 2020, Jamie engaged AgileSavant to co-facilitate an Intro to SAFe workshop for the Music & Arts leadership team while she was an Agile Project Manager / Scrum Master at M&A.  AgileSavant’s Chief Transformation Coach & CEO, David Tilghman, recalls this engagement:

Jamie and I conducted a very successful Intro to SAFe workshop for her M&A colleagues and at the conclusion of the workshop Jamie walked up to me and stated, “I want to do what you do…” (coaching and training within large scale lean-agile transformations).  I felt the sincerity and passion in her heart and decided right then and there that I would assist and mentor her to help her fulfill that goal.  I’m very happy that I made that choice because I have received so much benefit from Jamie’s relationship with me over the past several years – particularly in the areas of digital strategy and marketing.  She has learned from me and I have certainly learned from her, so I’m so happy she’s finally onboard with AgileSavant.

Jamie’s educational background is rich and diverse.  She earned her BA in Law & Society from Hood College (Frederick), her Paralegal Certification from Indiana University, and holds SAFe SPC, SA, POPM, SSM and Scrum Alliance CSM and CSPO certifications. She received the Leading Women Award from The Daily Record, which recognizes women under 40 for the tremendous accomplishments they have made so far in their careers based on professional experience, community involvement, and commitment to inspiring change.

Jamie is mom to 3-year-old identical twin girls and lives in Urbana, MD with her husband Donald of 15 years and her excitable labradoodle Freya. Welcome Jamie!
